AFWWA believes in inclusivity. To help bring inclusivity to the differently-abled, AFWWA runs special schools under the name of Umeed Asha Kiran Schools (UAKS). These schools impart life skills to our special children. it has special educators who help the children in their educational, social, physical and mental growth.
Apart From Special Education, the School provides Facilities of • Physiotherapy • Speech Therapy • Occupational Therapy • Dance and Movement Therapy • Baking classes • Music classes • Sports classes • Computer classes There is also a fully equipped Sensory Room, a therapeutic space that enables children to calm and focus themselves.
UAKS Pune has physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, sensory, aural and speech therapy experts. The vocational training centre teaches the children to make candles, decorative diyas, handmade paper articles and handloom products. These products are displayed in all the AFWWA run welfare shops. Our latest venture is a full-fledged bakery where the students will learn the trade and in future find similar jobs in the outside world.
